52-year-old manga artist Masakazu Katsura, who is known for Wing-man (1983-1985), Video Girl(1990-1993), DNA² (1993-1994) and ZETMAN (2002-2014), made a guest voice appearance in the 15th episode of the ongoing TV anime Garo: Honoo no Kokuin/Garo: The Animation aired last night in Japan. Katsura played a key person of the episode, veteran optician Bruno.
He received the offer from the original creator of the Garo series, Keita Amemiya, who studied at a same art school with him, Asagaya College Art and Design, in the early 1980s. While Amemiya graduated from the school, Katsura had to drop out because he had already started his first serialization work Wing-man on Weekly Shonen Jump and couldn't spare any more time for study.
